The whole time I read these poems I was watching Marvin Gaye's The Real Thing DVD and wondering who's wearing their heart more on their sleeves... this poet or Marvin? There appears to be a tie. I loved these poems. It's very rare to read about a man so incredibly crazy about a woman, but this guy has got it bad. Whether this is true or not (judging from the dedication, I'm guessing so), these are some really raw poems. Behind the Mask made me laugh because it's the type of poem somebody would give me. Some goodies were Dialing, Something you Should Know, What of Sadness, and April Flower Brings May Showers. Ordinary Conversation was my favorite of all. I felt like giving John a hug. Awwwwwwwwww... Hallmark is missing a writer.
